Dear all,
Cork Mental Health Awareness Cycle
Our Cork Mental Health Awareness Cycle takes place this coming Saturday, March 7th commencing from Marina Market.
Open to all, this peloton-style community event is about raising awareness, breaking stigma, and sending a powerful message: there is no shame in asking for help. Too many people are silently battling mental health difficulties. Through this event, we encourage open conversations and remind those who may be struggling that support is available.
We are especially committed to encouraging men to speak up. Tragically, 2 out of every 3 suicides are male. By coming together, we can help challenge that silence and create a culture where reaching out is seen as strength, not weakness.

Breaking Bad News – Training
Receiving news of a loved one’s death or serious injury is profoundly distressing, and how that news is delivered matters deeply. Professionals responsible for notifying next of kin require skill, empathy, and confidence to handle these moments with care.
‘Breaking Bad News’ Training will take place on March 25th, 9:30am–12:30pm. Registration for this free session which is open to medical personnel, first responders, and management or HR professionals working in high-risk or emotionally demanding environments is at: https://www.
Workplace Peer Support Training
Cycle Against Suicide’s workplace programme equips managers and employees with practical skills to recognise and respond to mental health concerns, promoting early intervention and a more supportive workplace culture. It also strengthens leadership, communication and teamwork, complementing existing supports such as EAPs.
Delivered via Zoom, the programme is free to employers and accredits 13.5 CPD points.
Registration for this free training is available at:

Seeking Teacher Input
We invite teachers to participate in a short anonymous University College Dublin survey examining young people’s social media and AI use. At a time of active national and international policy debate, this is an opportunity for educators to have their voices heard. The survey takes approximately 10 minutes: https://docs.google.com/forms/
Ring of Kerry Cycle
Cycle Against Suicide is privileged and truly delighted to have been chosen as a Tier 2 beneficiary charity of the Ring of Kerry Cycle.
If you are thinking of participating in this year’s event we would be incredibly grateful if you could take the opportunity to fundraise for Cycle Against Suicide. Every euro raised will be directly invested into strengthening and expanding our work. Research consistently shows that many adult mental health difficulties begin during adolescence, making early intervention essential. By delivering evidence based programmes in primary and secondary schools, and also supporting teachers and parents, w are driving long term preventative change. As demand for our services continues to grow nationwide, we are also expanding supports for parents, communities and workplaces, building the capacity of adults and organisations to respond with compassion, foster openness, and encourage early help-seeking behaviour.
Registration is available at: https://www.ringofkerrycycle.
This link will take you to the Ring of Kerry Central Charity Fund registration page. Within the form, you will have the option to support one of the seven Tier 2 charities , including Cycle Against Suicide.
To choose Cycle Against Suicide, simply select “Yes” when asked, “Do you wish to fundraise for one of our Tier 2 Charities?” You will then be able to select Cycle Against Suicide from the list.
Truly, we would be incredibly grateful for your support.
