There is increasing concern in Ireland about rising anxiety and mental health difficulties among children and young people. Yet, confusion around what constitutes a “mental health difficulty” often leaves parents feeling uncertain about how best to help.
The Cycle Against Suicide HELP (Health Educators Leading Parents) Programme, led by the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Department at University College Dublin, is developing an evidence-based learning toolkit to empower parents with clear, practical guidance.
We are now in Phase 2 of the development of this programme and we are currently seeking input from parents of children experiencing anxiety:
Your insights and experiences are vital to ensuring the toolkit is practical, relevant, and reflective of real family needs. By sharing your perspective, you can help shape a national resource designed by parents, for parents, to better support anxiety in children and young people across Ireland.
