Receiving news about the death of a loved one is often one of the most distressing experiences a person can face. The way this information is communicated can profoundly influence how individuals and families begin to process their grief and how they cope over time.

For organisations and personnel that must notify next of kin following a death or serious injury , this responsibility demands exceptional care, empathy, and professionalism. It is a difficult duty, requiring sensitivity to both emotional and practical needs, often in challenging circumstances.

Cycle Against Suicide is once again pleased to collaborate with Prof. Neil Greenberg and his team with a focused training session on delivering difficult news with compassion and care. This half-day workshop provides clear, practical guidance for those who may be involved in responding to serious incidents, coordinating support, or directly communicating difficult information.

The goal is to equip participants with the tools, awareness, and confidence needed to handle these deeply sensitive situations with as much humanity and understanding as possible.

Scheduled for Wednesday morning, December 17th, this free training is open to medical personnel and first responders. We also welcome participation from management and HR professionals in organisations whose staff routinely encounter high-risk or emotionally demanding environments.

Please note; this training is limited to 15 places. Registration is available below:
