N2; end to end Portugal Cycle

About this Event

Cycle Against Suicide is a national mental health awareness/suicide prevention charity – CHY 20867.

Participants on our N2; end-to-end Portugal Challenge and their fundraising efforts, are directly supporting the delivery of Cycle Against Suicide’s work across families, schools, communities, and workplaces. Funds raised through the N2 Portugal Challenge are vital in underpinning both the delivery and continued development of our programmes, enabling us to provide accessible mental health awareness, education, and peer-support initiatives nationwide. Their commitment helps us reduce stigma, promote help-seeking, and create spaces where open conversations about mental health can take place.

Specifically, their support contributes to our work with children and young people in schools, the development of parent supports, and the expansion of peer-support programmes in workplaces and communities. It also underpins targeted initiatives focused on men’s mental health, where the need remains critical. By third participation in our N2; end-to-end Portugal Challenge, the are helping Cycle Against Suicide empower individuals with the knowledge, tools, and confidence to face mental health challenges and ensuring that the message “It’s OK not to feel OK, and it’s OK to ask for help” continues to reach those who need it most.

Cycle the iconic N2, Portugal’s longest continuous road stretching from Chaves in the North to Faro in the South. Cycling the N2 is not just a journey; it is an immersion into the heart and soul of Portugal.
From the lush vineyards of the Douro Valley to the golden plains of Alentejo, our N2- end to end Portugal Challenge takes you on a historical journey, passing ancient castles, Roman ruins, and medieval towns.

The N2 is more than just a road; it’s a pathway to the authentic charm of Portugal’s rural life.

King of the Castle with Sean Kelly – Supporting Men’s Mental Health

About this Event

Sean Kelly ‘King of the Castle’—a sportive cycling event dedicated to breaking the stigma around men’s mental health.

Neglecting men’s mental health jeopardises the well-being of families, workplaces, and communities. When men are discouraged from expressing vulnerability, seeking help, or even acknowledging their mental health, it perpetuates a culture of silence that fosters isolation.

Men, like anyone else, deserve the space to articulate their struggles and to seek help without fear of judgment. By dismantling the stigma surrounding men’s mental health, we cultivate an environment where emotional expression is not a sign of weakness but a testament to resilience.

Cycle Against Suicide seeks to address the culture of silence by encouraging emotional expression and promoting resilience. By tackling stigmas, especially those related to male vulnerability and the higher rates of suicide among men, we provide a platform for men to articulate their struggles without fear of judgment.

Join our Sean Kelly ‘King of the Castle’ Sportive and come out in support of a society that values, supports and celebrates men’s mental wellbeing.

This event is open to men and woman, and of all abilities. Women’s involvement provides invaluable perspective and encouragement, promoting integral wellness for all.

Cycle of Hope – Mizen to Malin Challenge; Marking World Suicide Prevention Day

About this Event

World Suicide Prevention Day, held annually on September 10th, is a global call to action, raising awareness, breaking stigma, and encouraging open conversations around suicide and mental health.

By recognising this day, Cycle Against Suicide joins a worldwide movement to reduce suicide and offer hope to those who are struggling.

This year’s theme, “Changing the Narrative on Suicide”, calls for a shift from silence and misunderstanding to openness, empathy, and support. It urges individuals, communities, organisations, and governments to engage in honest dialogue about suicide, helping to break down barriers and foster a culture of understanding.

As part of this effort, Cycle Against Suicide hosts its annual ‘Mizen to Malin-Cycle of Hope’, a powerful cross-country cycle uniting people to raise awareness and show solidarity with those affected by suicide.

By joining our ‘Mizen to Malin-Cycle of Hope’ you are helping to change the narrative on suicide.

About this Event

This year, World Mental Health Day shines a light on a truth we cannot ignore: Mental health is a universal human right.

At Cycle Against Suicide, our mission has always been clear: to break the cycle of silence and address mental health stigma by reminding people that “It’s OK not to feel OK, and it’s absolutely OK to ask for help”, and to ensure access to help is available when and where it is needed most.

This World Mental Health Day, we invite you to join us for the Cycle Against Suicide Winter Lunch. More than just an event, it is a powerful gathering where individuals and businesses unite to;
