Bike4Life/Coast to Coast – World Suicide Prevention Day, September 10th & 11th

Support Men’s Mental Health
On September 10th every year, millions of people around the world come together to mark World Suicide Prevention Day (WSPD). Cycle Against Suicide joins this global community as we host our Bike4Life Coast to Coast cycling event to mark this important day, 10th & 11th September 2022. This year we are taking the opportunity to raise awareness around men’s mental health and call for change.
With 3 out of 4 suicides each year being male, there is a particularly pressing need now for a targeted approach to mental health awareness, education and suicide prevention among young and middle-aged men in Ireland –(Read report here)

Cycle Against Suicide is utilising its ‘Bike4Life-Coast to Coast’ event to mobilise people across Ireland to come out in support as we call for:

  • mental health awareness campaigns to increase men’s mental health literacy.
  • Awareness campaigns reframing masculinity.
  • Mental health support services and suicide intervention campaign.

We are asking mothers, wives, fathers, husbands, sons, daughters, friends, communities and workplaces to support out campaign and to join our event.  The common goal is to promote positive mental health, stamp out the stigma surrounding it and to give hope to those struggling with mental health issues.

Come out and join us. Get involved. We want YOU to be a central part of this impact event. So, gather your family and friends, your co-workers and neighbours and get ready to spin for mental health!
