Background to the Guidelines for Charitable Organisations on Fundraising from the Public

The Guidelines for Charitable Organisations on Fundraising from the Public (the Guidelines) were issued by the Charities Regulator in September 2017 and are intended to assist Trustees of a charity to run the charity effectively, avoid difficulties in respect of fundraising activities and comply with their legal duties. ‘The Guidelines’ are available for viewing on the Charities Regulator’s website: www.charitiesregulatoryauthority.ie or view the document here 

The basis of these ‘The Guidelines’ is in The 2008 Statement of Guiding Principles on Charitable Fundraising, (also known as the fundraising principles).
