This year we are delighted to announce the 2018 Congress will be held in the 3 Arena on 18th January 2018.
The 5th Cycle Against Suicide Student Leaders Congress is taking place in the 3Arena in Dublin on Thursday January 18th, 2018. This is the leading Student Mental Health Conference in Europe and promises to be an amazing event. It promotes positive mental health and provides help-seeking advice for young people in a fun and inclusive manner.
Our theme for the congress is #EmpowerYourVoice.
The day is very much a student-led event and a portion of the day involves students discussing their projects. A project can be depicted in paintings, poems or songs; just stretch the imagination to the limit. Cycle Against Suicide continue to spread the message tirelessly that “It’s OK not to feel OK; and it’s absolutely OK to ask for help“.
We have wonderful speakers lined up from USA and Ireland: Dr. Harry Barry, Dr. Eddie Murphy & Dr. Niall Muldoon to name but a few, as well as sports, TV & music personalities, Snapchat and Instagram influencers, and students and teachers all participating. A huge range of other Mental Health Organisations will be exhibiting on the day. The students will leave the Congress with tools that will support them for many years to come.
Due to the event being held in such a prestigious venue, and because of the quality of the acts attending, there will be a charge this year for students of €10 each. This unfortunately is also due to the large number of students that booked last year and did not show up, leaving students that were on a waiting list extremely disappointed. We request that you do not let this put you off attending, as we guarantee that this event will far outdo any Congress you may have attended in the past and you will get extremely good value for money.
Please be acutely aware that this event books up within a few hours, so to ensure your students are not disappointed please email firstname.lastname@example.org to book your tickets. We will purchase your tickets from Ticketmaster on your behalf to ensure student safety & child protection. Payment will be required by mid-December in full based on the block booking for the school. Teachers supervising their students will receive a complimentary ticket.
Further information will be available regularly and if you have any concerns or queries please do not hesitate to contact Angeline at email@example.com
The Congress continues to gain momentum and popularity from just 40 students in its 1st year in 2012 to over 7,000 next January 2018. That is something that we are proud of as an organisation. People make things happen and the support of all the people throughout the island of Ireland, and especially the involvement of the teachers and schools, has been extraordinary.
One of our co-founders, Jim Breen, has stepped back from Cycle Against Suicide over the last 18 months. After 5 years of a huge commitment to the movement, we can understand how Jim wanted to renew his focus on his business. We have continued to work tirelessly to continue the legacy of all the Founders, and continue to work with you and all our volunteers to change conversations on the island of Ireland around the issue of suicide and mental health.
We look forward to seeing you all there.
