Events Against Suicide
Many thanks to everyone who participated in Events Against Suicide 2016 . We greatly appreciate the efforts made by communities across the island of Ireland to raise awareness for our message ‘It’s OK not to feel Ok; and it’s absolutely OK to ask for help.’
Check out some highlights HERE
The aim of Events Against Suicide is to draw on the combined goodwill of communities all over the island of Ireland to use their skills and creativity to spread our message: it’s ok not to feel ok; and it’s absolutely ok to ask for help. We want to raise awareness across the 32 counties through a range of local, community-led events.
We’ve been inspired to see how Cycle Against Suicide has branched out from the main Cycle to SpinOff events and other activities such as the fun – runs / walks, climbs and even this year’s céilí! We just love your ideas and how you can turn your communities orange!
Can you host a concert, a dance-off, a sing-a-thon, a bake-off, a Zumba-thon, a football match, a swim, a talk, a knit-a-thon, a fashion show, a golf classic (or any other event) that would raise awareness, get people talking and let them know it’s ok not to feel ok?
Perhaps your school, your work place, club or team would like to shine a spotlight on positive mental health and join us during Suicide Prevention Week for Events Against Suicide? If you have an idea and want to know more, contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
Likewise, if you would like to become a local leader for Events Against Suicide, we’d love to hear from you too.
