MKM Challenge

At Cycle Against Suicide we are raising funds for our secondary schools’ programme and when you join our Bike4Life – MKM Challenge you are playing an active role in that. With Ireland ranking 4th highest on teen suicides in the EU, and one in three young people experiencing a mental health difficulty in any given year, our schools’ programme offers young people the knowledge, insights, and awareness that they need regarding mental health issues. As a peer to peer programme, whole school populations are educated and impacted positively by building hope and resilience and fostering a sense of belonging among young people  .

As part of our school’s programme, we also host our Student Congress, Highlights from our event in January can be viewed at: https://www.cycleagainstsuicide.com/2020/03/06/student-leaders-congress-2020/

For the upcoming school year, beginning this September 2020, we are seeing demand increase with more than 530 secondary schools wishing to participate on our programme.

As mental health issues frequently begin during teenage years, our schools’ programme is a critical piece in our overarching strategy combating suicide. Help us – by fundraising during our Bike4Life – MKM Challenge.

For the students who fundraise over €100 they enter a raffle of 4 weekend tickets for Longitude 2021.  This is a single prize.  The winning student and three of their friends will have access to the full concert.  (Please note the age restriction of this event).
